Connection
The connection settings for the Unified Communicator Server:
*Note: The login options will be unavailable if the mobile client settings have been preconfigured by the system administrator:
Server address:Enter the IP address or domain name in the 'Server address' setting.
*Note: To use a specific port number, append it to the IP address or domain name using a colon. For example: 175.1.2.3:12345
To force an encrypted TLS connection (recommended), append TCP port 21051 (default), or the specific port number provided by your administrator to the IP address or domain name as described previously.
Switch to another Server:To change the server your mobile device is registered with, select this option and enter a new IP address or domain name.
*Note: If the mobile client settings have been preconfigured on the new server, the UC client app will automatically refresh the configuration settings and connect to the new server.
If however, the device has not been preconfigured and connected, the steps mentioned in the Welcome Screen and Server Configuration Menu section will need to be followed.
Username:Enter the username given to you by your administrator. This should match the username which is set up in your Server user settings.
Password:Enter the password which is preconfigured on the server.
Deskphone extension:Enter the extension number that represents the desk phone.
*Note: This may be the same as a mobile extension.
*Note: This can be left blank if only using a desk phone. For mobile extensions, enter the extension number that represents the mobile device on the phone system. This may be the same as the desk phone extension, or it may be a virtual extension number.
*Note: Unified Communicator should be configured to connect and communicate at this stage. The Dial Through settings may also need to be configured in order to make full use of Unified Communicator.
